TRANSIENT_FIELD is a quadrophonic work which was created for INTERSECTIONS 2.0, an event at Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. The audience at the event were situated in the middle of the 4 speakers. TRANSIENT_FIELD treats each speaker as an individual sound source or ‘drummer’, taking inspiration from percussion and drumming ensembles. The work was performed using 2 laptops. Rhythmic material is generated using a euclidean algorithm on the first laptop, and the audio is generated on the second laptop.
