"Kernel Expansion" exposes the 'kernel' or 'heart' of certain secret sounds: some derived from real sources, some from personal experiences, and others from within my mind. "Kernel Expansion" consists of three sections that play continuously. The work was commissioned by and realised in the studios of ZKM after an earlier work of mine "Sub Terra" won the 2008 ZKM Giga-Hertz Award for electronic and acousmatic music.
