Aura is part of an ongoing project to use field recordings not as musical material but as musical structure. To make this piece I used a long (first order ambisonic) recording which was made while moving around a factory and a building site. But it sounds like a string orchestra - you could think of it as having a virtual orchestra playing a score, but in this case the score is actually a field recording. released May 9, 2016
