About the Instructors

Jakob Gille
Jakob Gille began his formal education at the HfM Dresden, where he studied composition and music theory. During this time he worked during an artist residency at ZKM Karlsruhe together with the Akusmonium GRM Paris. In his compositions, he focuses on the work with 3D Audio, especially Ambisonics. This led not only to diverse artistic output but also to several Ambisonics workshops and lectures in Berlin at the Catalyste Insitute, at Next Generation Festival at the ZKM Karlsruhe, at the Ambisonics Summer School in Ústí nad Labem and in Ottensheim during the Ambisonics Festival. His compositions have been played several times at the Medium Sonorum concert at the Ars Electronica Linz, in Ústí nad Labem in combination with the Ambisonics Summer School 2023, at the Festival Izis in Koper and two times at the Apnées Festival in Grenoble. In 2023, he won an honourable mention at ISAC in Pesaro. Currently, he is pursuing a master's degree in computer music and sound art at KUG & IEM Graz. https://jakobgille.github.io

Fränk Zimmer
Fränk Zimmer is a media artist, curator, and festival organizer. After training as a communications engineer in Luxembourg, he studied musicology in Graz and Vienna. He uses open-source software and hardware in sound and media installations in both public and art-specific spaces. Zimmer also works as a producer and co-curator for ORF musikprotokoll, a festival for contemporary and experimental music. In the last five years, he has focused on 3D audio and the development of interactive, web-based listening environments. In 2024, he founded "Sounding Future", an online platform dedicated to current technical and artistic developments in music and art.
