Deniz Çağlarcan

Deniz Çağlarcan is a Los Angeles–based composer, violist, conductor, and transdisciplinary artist from Istanbul, Turkey. His work explores the morphology of sound and image, building bridges between auditory and visual perception. Focusing on gestural and perceptual relationships among acoustic instruments, electronics, and visuals, he creates immersive environments using spatialized audio, visual projection, and interactive elements. His works include electroacoustic, mixed-media, and audiovisual compositions, site-specific installations, as well as music for film and video games. As a violist, he performs in solo recitals, chamber concerts, and new music ensembles, and co-founded the ADE Duo. He studied orchestral conducting with José-Luis Maúrtua at Central Michigan University. Çağlarcan holds master’s degrees in Viola Performance (CMU) and Composition (Bilkent) and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Composition and an M.S. in Media Arts and Technology at UC Santa Barbara.
