Rhythms of the Subatomic Landscapes

Rhythms of the Subatomic Landscapes

Hugo Paquete

Hugo Paquete's creative practice operates at the intersection of sound, computation, and critical inquiry. His work navigates the space between post-techno drive and experimental sound art, blending granular textures, algorithms, and spatial audio to create sonic systems that function as ecological compositions. Each piece represents an ecology of rhythm, noise, and resonance co-composed by machine precision and human perception. Operating through, algorithmic sabotage, Paquete hacks and repurposes technological forces, from biometric data to generative algorithms, transforming system collapse into vibrational knowledge. His notable collaborations include working with Lithuanian artist Julijonas Urbonas on "Talking Doors," awarded an Ars Electronica Distinction (2010), Japan Media Arts Festival Jury Recommendation, and Honorable Mention at Live 2011 Grand Prix. His extensive international presence spans IN-SONORA (Madrid), Audiorama (Stockholm), Zeppelin Festival (Barcelona), Sonic Vigil (Ireland), and IMEB Bourges, alongside major presentations at Ars Electronica and ZKM. Key works include "Unevenness" aboard NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission and "Orbital Eccentricity" developed at ZKM. I do not compose sounds, I compose cybernetic ecologies. I seek the resonant frequencies of rupture. Through sonic intra-action, we inhabit, resist, and regenerate worlds.
