Amanda Butterworth

Amanda Butterworth is an interdisciplinary artist exploring sound, space, and deep listening. Drawing on her background as a vocalist, yoga teacher, and trained actor, her research examines themes of embodiment, phenomenology, and deceleration. Her work invites audiences to slow down and listen — enlivening everyday spaces and fostering deeper relationships with our environment, the natural world, and with one another. She works across spatial sound technologies, multichannel composition, field recording, and installation. Using sound as an intervention; reimagining performance spaces, challenging passive listening, and dissolving hierarchies between artist and audience. Her works as Mücha span ambient, experimental, and avant-pop. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist and DJ since her late teens, her music combines a unique songwriting craft with a longstanding interest in electronic and bass music, shaped by UK rave culture.
