Dimitris Savva is an electroacoustic music composer, live-electronics performer, researcher, and educator. His recent research focuses on the recording and study of Cyprus’s forest soundscapes, as well as the promotion of acoustic ecology. His artistic output includes electroacoustic music, compositions for multimedia projects and documentaries, dance and theater performances, and both solo and collective live-electronics works using interactive media. His electroacoustic compositions have been presented at 95 international festivals since 2011, including Ars Electronica Forum Wallis 2024; Matera 2024 and ARTESCIENZA 2024; In Sonic 2017: Immersive Future (ZKM); ICMC 2014 (Athens); and the New York Electroacoustic Music Festival 2021. Some of these pieces have won awards in prestigious competitions, such as the Metamorphoses competition (2012, 2014, 2018) and the Iannis Xenakis competition (2018). Ten of his works have also been released on notable compilation albums, including Metamorphoses and CIME 2020. In academia, he served as an adjunct lecturer at the Cyprus University of Technology, where he taught the courses “Electronic, Electroacoustic Music and Sound Art” and “Introduction to Sound Arts.”
