Ilya Perov is a composer and interdisciplinary artist based in Essen, Germany. In his works he combines strictly rationalized techniques with spontaneous decisions, applying various algorithmic and improvisatory approaches to his music and creative process as such. He is studying composition of electronic music at the Folkwang University of Arts ICEM since 2023 and has twice been a participant of the "Next Generation" festival at ZKM in Karlsruhe. Developing software to create his own compositional tools and instruments along with work in immersive audio formats such as ambisonics is an important part of his working process. His current interests include working with complex rhythmical structures, creating interactive installations and multimedial works.
