Theodor Petrea

Theodor-Alexandru Petrea was born in Piatra Neamț, Romania and is currently studying Audio Design as his Bachelor of Arts in Berlin, Germany. His formative years were dedicated to the study and performance of classical pianoforte repertoire, a discipline that cultivated both technical rigor and sensitivity to nuance. Through sound, he investigates the sensory as a total phenomenon, using it as a means to question perception and the nature of existence itself. His process is often analytical and reflective, marked by a tendency toward reverse engineering and an acute attention to structural and sonic detail. His work is deeply personal, emerging from introspection and philosophical inquiry, and seeks to transform the act of listening into a critical and contemplative experience. His artistic practice engages with the relationship between perception, consciousness, and technology. By integrating spatial composition, sound installation, and theoretical exploration, he aims to blur the boundaries between human and machine, listener and environment. As an artist and thinker, he remains fascinated by the search for meaning within apparent meaninglessness, by the presence of symbols in the mundane, and by the delicate balance between logic and intuition. His work ultimately aspires to open a philosophical space through sound — a space in which perception itself becomes an act of creation
